Battlefield 2042 was announced on June 9, detailing the game’s near-futuristic resource-starved setting. Furthermore, Dice reveals the game will utilise new hardware in gaming systems to enhance the fidelity within the game while offering 128 player servers on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Likewise, the many maps feature extreme weather effects as part of global warming, with a City getting torn apart by a super strength tornado, with Sandstorms blocking out the sun on a desert-themed map. With these new features, it is safe to say the game will want some powerful PC hardware. Here are some potential Battlefield 2042 system requirements, as the game currently does not have any available from the developers.

Potential System Requirements

As previously mentioned, the Battlefield 2042 system requirements are merely a theory and are subject to change. Once when the developers publish the information, we will update the article.

Battlefield 2042 Minimum System Requirements

  • CPU: AMD FX8350 / Core I5 6600K
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 / AMD Radeon RX 560
  • Storage: 80 GB
  • Operating System: Windows 8.1 & Windows 10

Please note, the minimum specs are very similar to the minimum specs of Battlefield V. We don’t think all that much will change from either game at a base level, other than a slight increase in performance demand. Although, the minimum spec will likely be the minimum baseline to run the game at 30fps. You can see some of the Battlefield 2042 gameplay here and decide for yourself if you agree with us.

Battlefield 2042 Recommended Specs

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
  • Storage: 80 GB
  • Operating System: Windows 10

The processing power in our recommended specs will likely be more than enough to handle Battlefield’s destructive map nature. Furthermore, the recommended spec cards maybe a few years old, but they were built with Battlefield 1 in mind. Based on the performance in Battlefield 1, the cards ran the game fine and should still perform admirably for Battlefield 2042. If you want to guarantee no GPU performance issues at 60fps, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 / AMD RX 5700 XT will have more than enough power to handle the game.
