Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that Hearthstone drops are back on their YouTube Esports channel. The return of the Hearthstone Grandmasters Season 1 sees weekly competition of the top Hearthstone players in the game go at it in duels. Now more than ever is there a better opportunity to get you into the game with free hearthstone cards.

Blizzard Entertainment is giving away free Hearthstone packs from Hearthstone drops on their YouTube Channel to celebrate the Hearthstone Grandmasters’ return. With the Grandmasters event kicking off on April 9, players can have their YouTube Accounts and their Battle.net ID’s linked together to get rewards. Simply head over to YouTube’s account linking page here to pair up your accounts and become eligible.

Once when you are eligible, you can earn up to six free Hearthstone packs by simply watching the event. There is two Year of the Phoenix pack drops available for watching the first week of play. From there, you can gain another two Year of the Pheonix pack drops from watching Weeks 2-7. Lastly, you can grab two free packs by watching the Playoff Week, which will instead grant two Forge of the Barrens Packs instead. 

The Hearthstone Grandmasters is one of the various events that run through the Hearthstone esports calendar. The Grandmasters aim is to offer the very best players in each region to compete in weekly fixtures. The Grandmasters Hearthstone works by pitting the 16 best teams of each region in Duel Tournament Group Play, with the top eight of the event going into the weekend streamed matches. From there, they take part in Single Elimination Series, moving into a top-four on Sunday, crowning a cup champion. The event takes place through seven weeks utilizing different modes. Once the eight best teams of each region are known, they’ll battle it out in the Playoff week. The winner earns their right to represent their region at the World Championship later in the year. Those who don’t make it have the chance to earn their regions second spot in Season 2 of the Grandmasters championship.

The other form of competitive Hearthstone players can watch is the Masters Tour. The Masters Tour creates grants unique events worldwide, offering many international players a chance to compete against each other. Furthermore, there are opportunities to qualify for the Grandmasters events via succeeding in these tournaments. The most recent Masters Tour was the HM T Ironforge event, which took place in March. 

There is currently no news yet on the free Hearthstone card packs coming from drops for other events, but it could be a nice addition to keep new players and loyal fans engaged further.
