Scavengers: PvPvE Survival Shooter with Twitch Drops enabled

Developers Midwinter Entertainment is dropping a ‘new kind of competitive shooter’ named Scavengers. The new game launching on Early Access on April 28 aims to create a new experience with enemy players, the environment, and map threats to consider.

Scavengers is a brand new title developed by former Halo and Battlefield and Battlefront developers. The game aims to incorporate PvE elements, bringing in a different threat for players to encounter. Furthermore, players find themselves on frozen waste, having to survive against the elements too. Players can take advantage of environmental changes through weather spawns to hordes of creatures and wildlife attacking players. The ultimate aim of the game is to capture more data points than opposing teams on the map.

The emphasis on survival mechanics is akin to survival games. Players will have to manage hunger, managing ice storms, scavenge for supplies, whether that’s food or ammo. Once when all three of your squad members die, your team is officially eliminated, following on from Battle Royale gameplay.Your tool for navigating the game is your Explorer, aka a class. Every class is unique, offering different skills and weapon loadouts. After every match, you can find and unlock blueprints to later upgrade your arsenal. Like Battle Royales, the game aims to evolve other time, adapting the map, seasonal mechanics and more.

Midwinter Entertainment plan on launching Scavengers in Early Acces on April 28, with Twitch Drops and signs up gaining players access to the game. Eventually, the game will launch on steam, with many players getting the opportunity to play the game.

To become eligible for Twitch Drops, simply follow the signup instructions:

• Create an account using the Improbable game account. We recommend creating an account using Twitch to get the Twitch / Improbably authentication accounts connected. 
• Watch at least 30 minutes of any Scavengers Stream.
• After claiming a Twitch Drop, you’ll receive an email with your key to begin playing on Steam.
• You’ll also be notified of your Twitch Drop through your twitch inventory, accessible on your Twitch account’s Drops tab located by clicking on your profile in the top right.
• Once when you have access to Scavenger’s Key, You can start downloading Scavengers.  To download Scavengers, head over to the platform they key is for, find the redeem or activate code and input it.

 

The Early Access limited-time Twitch Drops event begins at 12 am PST / 3 am EST / 8 am BST. Once you have access, you will have access forever. Scavengers aim to be a free-to-play game, with a full launch later in 2021. Furthermore, the Xbox and PlayStation release will come at a later date.

Scavengers seem like a very interesting new game. Let us hope a new title like this can once again innovate and evolve the competitive shooter genre.
