Stop beating yourself up about the lack of sheep spawns

If you’re one of those New World players who has broken through the server problems, endured a rather warm graphics card, and are actually enjoying the game, chances are you’ve come across a sheep shortage. Sheep are a rather rare animal (at least it feels that way), which you need to kill to improve Trade Skills such as Cooking or complete the Stonereach Hunt quest. If you’re wondering where New World sheep spawns have wandered off to, we’ll have you rounding them up in no time.
Once you have completed the tutorial and joined a faction, you’re relatively free to explore and gain experience as you wish. However, if you’re all about fighting for your chosen faction, then you may have already stumbled upon a faction daily quest called Stonehunt Reach. Except there’s an issue with it: Your faction doesn’t tell you where the sheep are.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there are no sheep spawns if you started in First Light. But, if you started in Monarch’s Bluff, there are a few spots to search that will allow you to complete the quest.
The most densely populated sheep location in Monarch’s Bluff is around the Adamant Mines. There are roughly nine New World sheep spawns in the area. You may find two spawns located in the west-facing valley leading out from the Adamant Mine. Six more can be found via the eastern pathway out of the mine. Do be aware there are a few hostiles nearby, so we advise being around level 10 to search these routes. If other players are competing for the Adamant Mine’s sheep spawns, then there’s one more spawn in the field northeast of Adamant, but it isn’t exactly efficient to farm that one. One is better than nothing, so you may have to go for it.
If you need another sheep hotspot, there are a few more sheep spawns along the southern border with Cutlass Keys. There are two sheep spawns near the Highbloom Hovel Wolf Den. If you travel further east from the den, then you’ll come across a few more woolly beasts along the border. However, my server had Corrupted spawns at the time of writing, making it a more dangerous route to traverse. You should only attempt it if the Adamant Mine is too congested and so long as level 25 Corrupted enemies are not patrolling the area.
