World of Warcraft patch 9.0.5 has reintroduced Valor Points for the first time since they were left behind in Warlord of Draenor. The currency is returning to serve the Mythic+ gearing system, which joined the game way back in Legion. Here are all the details you need to know.

How to Get Valor Points

Valor Points are back with several ways to collect them. The main way players can expect to get are through completing Mythic+ dungeons. Players can expect to get them mainly through completing Mythic+ dungeon runs when the patch comes out. As it stands, players receive over 135 Valor Points a mythinc+, regardless of difficulty.

The other way to get them is through Callings. Callings offer the casual player a means to get a hold of conquest every day. Smaller callings offer 35 Valor points a hand in, with the epic callings offering 50 Valor points. While this is relatively little, a small bit here and there may add up to upgrading a piece of gear every week, depending on the slot.

How to Spend Valor Points

Players can spend their hard-earned currency through the in-game item upgrader. The cost for each item depends on the item slot. Current values for upgrading are based on the PTR, which will be updated if Blizzard changes any values when the patch goes live on active realms.

How to Rank up your M+ Level

Just like World of Warcraft’s current PvP system, the extent to which players upgrade M+ items entirely depends on skill level. Players will need to unlock Shadowlands seasonal keystone achievements if they want to push their M+ gear further, Here are the breakdowns for each milestone.

The inclusion of the currency in WoW Patch 9.0.5 is only one of the feature changes in the patch. For more highlights from the patch drop, check out our article here.
