North American esports organization, Sentinels has acquired Tyson “TenZ” Ngo from Cloud9. The moves comes as the Sentinals needed a fifth player because of the current suspension of Jay “Sinatraa” Won.

Sentinels have recently found itself in an unfortunate circumstance. One of the team’s founding players, Sinatraa, is currently under temporary suspension due to an investigation on sexual misconduct.

Because of this reality, the Sentinels roster is down a player on their Valorant line-up. The VCT Masters 1 NA kicked off on March 11 with teams fighting until the 21. Because of the length and importance of the event, Sentinels could not afford to drop out. With the current situation, Sentinels managed to bring on Tenz to the roster from Cloud9.

However, Riot Games has a rule regarding player’s operating on two teams. With the rule in place, Sentinels and Cloud9 have agreed on the contract status of TenZ. The player is now officially part of the Sentinels roster and will remain there until there is some resolution on the Sinatraa investigation.

Like Team Liquid’s Rainbow Six roster, the right course of action is to suspend the player, either let go of them or bring them back on, depending on the situation’s outcome. Sentinels is in a good position to keep TenZ on if they are forced to drop Sinatraa.

TenZ and Sentinels will play against Luminosity at 12:00 PST on March 12. The question is, how will this short notice roster change affect the roster’s chances at competing? Sentinels were one of the first few teams to make it to the VCT Masters 1 NA event. They are on the best teams in the region, and now that progress may have come undone. Tune in to determine if the TenZ is the ace up its sleeve to perform in an awkward situation.
