Riot Games has confirmed the latest map for Valonrat is Breeze, a Caribbean themed map with beaches, resorts and more. The new map is detailed for Valorant’s next patch, episode 2, Act 3.
Developers Riot Games has set up Breeze as the sixth map in the games arsenal. After Riot released Icebox in October 2020, over six months ago. After a teaser video detailing the map sites, it seems like it could be an LMG or Operator paradise.

The map has plenty of long angles, each with narrow pathways to push and others with limited cover. Consequently, the map feels like it is easy to get picked off. No doubt Operator Jetts are going to find Breeze their playground.
Although, the likes of Intel Agents, with Brimstone’s Stimpack Odin combo proving viable. One section of the map details a thin box of cover on a beach, with angles directly covering an archway. Chances are there could be some surprise heavy fire coming that way in regular play.
But, the most important part of the map design will force new Agents into play. The meta consistently has Sova, Cypher, Omen, Jett, and a variety of other duelists. However, there is now more chance for Skye to pop off with her Hawk’s blind hitting many areas. Astra might even get more playtime on Breeze, with her map-wide kit looking tastier here. Furthermore, Viper’s wall is looking like it will be huge for creating a line of sight that otherwise doesn’t exist. Even Yoru might be good because of his ability to teleport behind enemy lines as flanking seems harder on Breeze.
Riot Games has designed the map this way to create more room for non-meta Agents to shine. Sal Garozzo, a Senior Game Designer on Valorant, said: “One of the main goals we had with Breeze was building larger and more open spaces with longer sightlines than the other maps in the pool. This provides an opportunity for different weapons and agents to shine.”
It will be fascinating to see Breeze unfold as it comes to live servers. Episode 2 Act 3 launches on April 27, so there’s not long left before the carnage unfolds.
