British esports organization, EXCEL Esports has announced it is entering its third esports title with the creation of a Valorant roster. The organization has brought on its first member, former G2 Esports player, David “DavidP” Prins.
EXCEL signing its first-ever Valorant signing comes after months of paying attention to the scene. The brand sees what Valorant is becoming, and have now decided that it is time to enter the scene with a huge signing.
DavidP is one of the most successful Valorant players since the game first launched in May 2020. The in-game leader is a seven-time champion Ignition Series Champion, taking home trophies like the BLAST Invitational and the Vitality European Open.
The organization signs DavidP as the team captain, who will build the roster to create a VCT Masters quality roster. It is unclear how long it will be before the roster come to fruition. The dates currently available for Valorant Champions Tour: Masters events are scheduled for March, May, and September.
As it stands, the Masters 1 is the next big Valorant event, with teams recently locking themselves in through qualifiers. The next event that is still up for grabs is the Valorant 2 Masters, currently scheduled for Reykjavik, Iceland, just after League of Legend’s MSI event.
EXCEL esports is a brand that strives itself on performance and better one’s self through its Power of Better vision. The organization rebranded in November 2020 to take on these core values. The signing of DavidP is a reflection of those principles, as well as any other signing EXCEL makes.
Keep your eyes peeled for any signings EXCEL make to its new Valorant squad. The organization will likely sign anyone who fits its brand, and as we know, the depth of Valorant talent is huge.
The depth of talent in EU VALORANT was only viewed wrong by the people not watching or just reading known name orgs. If people had really been paying close attention they would have seen the teams grinding qualifiers and seen many talented prospects...I love it! #VCT
