If you have managed to get in a few games of 1047 Games’ Splitgate then you’ll no doubt have tried a few of its weapons. The game has a varied arsenal, with game modes like Shotty Snipers and SWAT changing your default weapon. However, the usual team deathmatches will have you picking up weapons across a variety of maps. If you want to know which weapons are worth using, check out the best Splitgate weapons in our Splitgate weapon tier list below.

Methodology

Like all tier lists, we will break down each weapon into different brackets. We will use the industry-standard S Tier all the way down to the D Tier to separate the best from the worst. However, Splitgate only has a few weapons in the game, meaning the Splitgate weapon tier list is going to be rather shallow in its rankings. Furthermore, there are obviously no terrible weapons, with its Halo like gunplay meaning every weapon has its purpose.

  • S Tier – The S Tier are the best weapons in Splitgate. They genuinely perform the best across all maps and any game mode they spawn on.
  • A Tier – These A Tier weapons are really good, and are likely the weapons you will use on most occasions.
  • B Tier – The B Tier weapons are fairly balanced guns. They have some weaknesses but also clear strengths or offer a fun playstyle.
  • C Tier – This Tier contains weapons that are arguably slightly underpowered. They still work but are not that great compared to other more powerful weapons.
  • D Tier – Unfortunately, this Tier contains the worst weapon in the game.

The Best Splitgate Weapons?

The Best Splitgate weapon Battle Rifle

The Battle Rifle is the best gun in Splitgate. It is basically a burst fire Carbine, albeit the rounds are weaker because that would make it overpowered. The burst fire feels like it can contend with weapons like the Pulse Rifle, Assault Rifle and Carbine in your bog-standard mid-to long-range fights. However, the weapon only excels if you can get at least one headshot, as headshot rounds deal 25 damage each. Therefore, you’ll need to land two well-aimed crosshair placements to frag effectively with this weapon.

The Carbine is another standout weapon, which is typically the default starting weapon for most Splitgame game modes. The weapon is a scoped semi-automatic, lacking the burst of the BR but with rounds that hit for 30 in the body and 40 in the head. That implies it needs more accuracy to kill, but it still packs a punch for your everyday skirmishing. Expect to fire three to four rounds before this weapon seals the deal.

The Plasma Rifle is a very weird weapon as it uses slow-moving projectiles rather than hit scan bullet registry. Since the weapon requires the user to predict an enemy’s movement, it gives the weapon a higher skill cap than your regular hit-scan weapons. Due to its difficulty, 1047 have compensated with a decent rate of fire and 17.5 damage per round. It doesn’t seem like much, but that weapon can slay as hard as any other weapon in the A Tier. More so, the Plasma Rifle demolishes the Assault Rifle in duels due to PR’s damage outclassing the AR. It will even beat the SMG if the PR user takes advantage of the SMG’s 20-meter range drop-off.

While Shotguns in first-person shooters are typically close-range weapons of choice, the Shotgun in Splitgate feels particularly powerful. The weapon is almost always the best weapon for CQB combat, guaranteeing one-hit-kills versus enemies at point-blank range. While the shotgun’s damage falls off at range, that doesn’t kick in until the buckshot extends past 10-meter distance. That makes it a reliable weapon to chip away at enemies while you switch to a more suitable mid-range weapon.

The Sniper Rifle is the only weapon in Splitgate that is guaranteed to one-hit kill any enemy in the head. A Sniper requires precision to destroy an opponent effectively; otherwise, it will deal 65 damage to the body. Even if you land a body shot, you can switch to your second gun to finish the job. It makes it a great weapon for almost any map, allowing for a 1-2 combo or kill enemies before they even knew what hit them.

The B Tier Weapons

The BFB is a meme weapon, but it is fun and does do its job, even if it is niche. Image via 1047.

The Splitgate weapon tier list has quite a few B Tier weapons. The main reason why is that it feels like they are slightly under tuned compared to most others in the game. This is certainly the case for the SMG, which sits in a weird place between the Plasma Rifle and the Shotgun where it lacks utility.

However, there are a few special weapons in this section. You may have noticed the Rocket Launcher, Rail Gun, and BFB are in the B Tier section. These weapons are fun weapons but are naturally limited for the sake of balance. If you want to blow someone up through a portal or someone cowering behind cover with a Rocket Launcher, feel free. Just don’t expect the fun to last long with its maximum four-round capacity being a clear weakness. The same goes for the BFB, which is a great lunge melee weapon, if you can avoid getting picked off at range. When you finally get into lunge range, it will be very satisfying to launch some poor soul halfway across the map.

This concludes the Splitgate weapon tier list. Do you agree on what we think are the best weapons in Splitgate? Perhaps we have missed the mark on another weapon? Either way, let us know your thoughts in our comments section.
