Ubisoft has announced it has launched a brand new YouTube Channel called gTV. The new channel aims to promote various esports and gaming related shows, hosted and presented with various esports and gaming entertainers.

gTV’s first season of shows will feature a talk show, hosted by Jay-Ann Lopez, with guests like Ellie Gibson, Nicola Adams, Rufus Hound, and Pete Donaldson making an appearance. The five of them will talk about video games, covering various themes like comedy, health, or sport. Ubisoft’s gTV esports show is called ‘Versus’, hosted by popular esports and gaming host, Frankie Ward. Frankie will collect a roster of UK Twitch & YouTube stars to compete against each other. You can expect to see various tournaments and challenges as part of the new series.

Furthermore, Ubisoft aims to curate more niche flavoured content. gTV will include shows on comics, amongst other aspects of nerd and geek culture. One show is titled ‘Cafe XP’ hosted by actor and comedian Babatunde Aleshe. Alesha is joined by celebrities and personalities including Asim Chaudhry, Elz The Witch, and Julia Hardy. Cafe XP aims to get the host and guests to share their passion for gaming. Also, you can expect the show also provide challenges and other elements to spice the show up.

Also, Ubisoft is no stranger to the UK esports scene. They will create a mini-series called ‘Fragments’ aimed at televising miniature series based on the UK grassroots scene. Ubisoft currently has the UKIN Rainbow Six League, with underdog stories like Cowana Gaming. So there may be a potential cross over there.

Finally, ‘aRTY is’ a social-first episodic series focusing on the artists in the gaming world. The show explores the work of gaming artists, with graffiti artist, Flake being the only guests confirmed so far for the show.

“So many of us at Ubisoft are proud players, proud to be part of video game culture. Our intent with gTV is to honour this form of entertainment, sharing stories tied to our games, but also the ones that left a mark on us as players,” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Ubisoft. “We have chosen My Accomplice and So Press because we love their work and their unique way of telling inspiring and entertaining stories. We wanted to see that applied to the video games industry.”

“We want to be first in the industry to create valuable, entertaining content that goes beyond and behind games with stories that show the positive impact of gaming. We have loved partnering with Ubisoft to bring our knowledge of authentic cultural content through into the games world and are incredibly proud of the results.” said Jamie Clark, Founder, My Accomplice “We’re really excited about the UK launch this week and looking forward to what comes next.”
