Twitch’s biggest trending Streamer, Ludwig, has revealed he has only made 3000 dollars from his record-breaking streaming session, according to his workings. However, this is despite roughly 470K made through the Ludwig Twitch Subathon event so far.

Ludwig is Twitch TVs biggest sensation after going viral with a live stream, which continues until the timer runs out. Every new Twitch Subscriber extends the duration of the stream by 15 seconds.

With that goal of the stream, Ludwig has been active for more than 240 hours, so far, and at the time of writing, he has another 34 hours minimum remaining.

The duration of the stream is an indication of the number of subscribers Ludwig has gained during the stream. According to Twitch stat website, TwitchTracker, Ludwig has over 114,000 Twitch Subscribers, beating Minecraft Streamer, Ranboolive’s number of 64k.

With the amount of subscribers, the length of the stream and ad revenue, Ludwig details the amount of money he has made. According to his workings, the stream has generated roughly $472K USD, but Ludwig is only set to earn 3k of that amount.

Of that 472K, Ludwig takes 300k of it, meaning Twitch gets roughly 35% of Ludwig’s earnings. Follow that up with Ludwig’s taxation by living in California, he loses another $150,000 on top of that. His actual take-home pay is, therefore, $150,000  as of March 24. However, he has promised to pay mods throughout the event a considerable chunk of his earning, meaning his money drops even less. Top that off with Charity contributions and the take-home pay is only $3k. Ludwig’s revenue can be found from his stream clip here

While it looks dire, there is a lot of money being lost by Ludwig’s decision making. He could earn a lot more from this entire Streamathon, but he has chosen to give back some of that money.

When Ludwig’s Twitch contract is up, he can negotiate a better deal with Twitch on their cut of his revenue. However, it will not affect the cash flow of this charity event. Furthermore, Cali has a higher State Tax rate, meaning he can potentially move to another State with less demanding taxes.
