Is Hood Crossplay?

With Hood Outlaws and Legends launching on two different console generations and two PC platforms, the game will have crossplay. As it stands, the NDA on the game has yet to be lifted, so there is no actual concrete news on Hood Outlaws and Legends crossplay features.

However, one of the Focus Home Interactives Staff has mentioned that more information will appear closer to launch. Likewise, another developer is mentioned in the game’s discord that linking your platform accounts to a single account, which is handy for Epic Games and Steam users linking up.

Also, there is confirmation for console players to opt-out of crossplay if they so wish to.

What is Hood: Outlaws and Legends

Hood Outlaws and Legends is an upcoming PvPvE game featuring two squads of four, aiming to heist a government interest successfully as if they are Robin Hood. Although, there is a twist. The game features PvP elements, with other bands of Outlaws and Brigands trying to achieve the same thing you are.

To play Hood, players select an Outlaw, which are classes that players use to achieve victory. There are four Outlaws available at launch, which all achieve results in different ways.

Hood Outlaw Classes

The first is the Ranger, which is the most Robin Hood inspired Outlaw of them all. The Ranger equips a Longbow, marking targets at incredibly long ranges. He also has an ability called Farsight, which is an enchanted arrow, which explodes after landing. If he finds himself in a sticky situation, he can use a flash to blind areas using gunpowder.

While the Hunter sounds similar to the Ranger, it certainly isn’t. Hunters use a Crossbow instead, which fires powerful long-range shots or multip bolts simultaneously for powerful close-range action. Furthermore, Hunters aim to get in there and assassinate targets at close range, using assassination, shroud abilities and smoke bombs to do the job.

Thirdly, there is the Brawler, the blacksmith that has turned to war instead. The Brawler is your Blacksmith character that uses a Warhammer to make his moves. Brawlers are your tactical escape tool, with the ability to lift portcullises after detected within a government building. In addition, he makes a valuable damage tool, with an ability that improves his damage and defensive stats, with a grenade to match.

Finally, there is the Mystic. Mystics are the inquisitor type Outlaw, specialised with Flail and potion mixing. They also do reliable healing damage or poison damage, depending on the concoctions they make.

Hood Gameplay

Gameplay in Hood Outlaws and Legends is a PvPvE game. The game’s objective is for your squad of four to go in, steal the Sheriff’s key and get out to win the game. But first, you must get into the building of interest, stay as undetected as possible, beating the rival players and extracting.

Upon launch, there will be five maps for you to earn in in-game experience and currency. These maps are Graveyard, Marshland, Coastal, Citadel, and Outpost, each set in different biomes and environments.
