Furthermore, EXCEL’s brand of the power of better will once again surface. The partnership sees both partners come together to make education content, alongside giveaways in the future.

EXCEL entered Fortnite last year when they signed Wolfiez Ashman, the highest earner in UK esports history. His valuation comes in after finishing second at the Fortnite World Cup and winning over $1M. According to prize money won and tournament placements, Excel’s star player is the best Fortnite controller player globally. During his first few months at EXCEL, Wolfiez placed second in the 2020 FNCS Invitational Europe, winning $125k in total prize money.

“At EXCEL ESPORTS we are always looking to work with forward-thinking partners that are innovating tech within the competitive gaming space. Fortnite is a title in which we are looking to create a lasting legacy and it’s great to have partners like Sony who can help us. Jaden competes on controller-based PC, but he has been thrilled by the mobile experience Sony offers and sees it as the ideal way for him to keep playing at the highest level whether he’s at home, or on the go,” said Patrick Collins, Head of Partnerships, EXCEL ESPORTS.

This new deal is another one added to the organization’s list. Over the last year, they have teamed up with BT, Eleiko, Beyond NRG and Chupa Chupa. As for Sony, this is not the only major esports promotion the tech company has involved itself. The company recently announced that the Sony Experia is the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship official. The CoD Mobile WC will use the upcoming flagship phone, the Xperia 1 III, set to launch later in the year.
