Andreas “Xyp9x” Højslethis a Danish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player and former Counter-Strike 1,6 competitor. He is currently signed as a Support player to Danish team Astralis. He was born on September 11, 1995 and is currently 24 years old.
This player’s career began in 2012 with the Ildal Lions, he competed with CPLAY before joining Fnatic in January 2013. He moved to the Copenhagen Wolves in July 2013, then über G33KZ, Team Dignitas and Team SoloMid in January 2015 before becoming part of the Astralis line up in January 2016.
Astralis, in December 2019, became the first esports team to launch an IPO and publicly list shares in the company for sale to investors.
The current Astralis CS:GO line up consists of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Emil “Magisk” Reif, and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen.
On March 3rd 2019 the Astralis CS:GO team won the IEM Major in Katowice and on September 8th 2019 the team won the StarLadder Major in Berlin. In September 2018 they won the FACEIT Major in London and in January 2017 the ELEAGUE Major in Atlanta.
Højslethis has been repeatedly ranked highly by HLTV. Along with a number of his teammates he has won the greatest number of Major tournaments. He gained his gamer tag simply by typing something random on his keyboard. He is also one of only six players to have attended all the CS:GO Major Championships.
As per Esports Earnings, to March 2020, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højslethis has earned over $1,755,000 in prize money from 152 tournaments. By earnings he is ranked 3rd in Denmark and the 40th best esports player in the world.
