DreamHack, one half of ESL Gaming has announced the teams competing in the DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 event. The tournament seems several of the best teams in the ESL World Ranking join forces, with several other teams who earned their way weeks ago. With the tournament nearly upon us, the event has its Groups locked in as teams prepare for the event on April 29.

DreamHack revealed on Twitter the teams officially invited to the event. Top tier teams, including prestigious brand like Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, mousesports, G2 Esports, Vitality, Heroic, and more will fight for the DH:M Spring title.

On the other hand, the rising CIS teams are invited. Teams like Virtus.pro, Gambit, and Team Spirit, which continue to shock the world through their appearances at the ESL Pro League Season 13 and the IEM Katowice 2021 event. In reality, these teams are the watch to continue their warpath through the best team the world typically has on offer.

With all that said, the schedule for the event is live. Gambit Esports battles Fiend, with Team Spirit taking on G2 Esports. ON the other side of the bracket, Natus Vincere fight mousesports, with FaZe Clan and Virtus.pro the final opening series of Group A. In Group B, Astralis face off against Extra Salt with Complexity and Team Vitality battling. On the other side of the Group, FURIA takes on BIG, and Pain Gaming battle the ESL Pro League Champions, Heroic.

Each Group has a losers bracket format. The two teams of each group who make it to the Upper Bracket Final will fight over a seed into the semi-finals, with the loser going to the quarters. The teams who fight in the Lower Bracket Finals will compete over a single spot in the quarter-finals.

 

 

DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 is one of the biggest tournaments in Spring for CS:GO calendar. The event typically allows the big teams to compete for one of DreamHack’s biggest prizes, along with several T2 teams competing in the smalled DreamHack events, designed to gain solid stage experience. However, some Tier 1 teams do slip through the cracks through various qualifiers every year.

The teams that had qualified for the event before the announcement include the Team Spirit, paiN Gaming, Heroic, Complexity, Team Fiend, and Extra Salt. For the teams like paiN Gaming, one of the Brazilian scenes up and coming rosters, alongside the former C9 South African core of Extra Salt and the Bulgarian roster Team Fiend, have the opportunity to show the world what they are made of.

DreamHack Masters Spring is due to begin on April 29, with a prize pool of $250,000 dollars. Furthermore, the teams have the opportunity to earn some ESL Pro Tour points. EPT points are some of the most sought after circuit points in CSGO. Teams have the opportunity to qualify for some of ESL Gaming’s biggest events, such as the ESL One Cologne due this Summer.
