If you fancy beating up zombies in Turtle Rock’s latest game, Back 4 Blood, then you might be wondering what it takes to run it? Luckily for you, we have listed out the Back 4 Blood system requirements you’ll need to beat back the zombie hordes.

The Back 4 Blood minimum system requirements are simply a guess of what we could expect. However, we know for certain the recommended specs for the upcoming Back 4 Blood beta. Bear in mind that it is a beta, and optimization isn’t necessarily locked in just yet. However, we can use the beta specs to create a guestimate for the minimum requirements until Turtle Rock publish the official system requirements.

Back 4 Blood Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows® 10 64-bit
  • Processor (CPU): Intel Core i5-4400 / AMD FX 8320
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics (GPU): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 / AMD Radeon R9 280 or better
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 25 GB available space

Our guesstimate is somewhat based on other gaming trends in 2021. Plenty of games in 2020 are asking for fairly decent parts from the early 2010s. We think it is safe to assume that a GTX 680 is fair, with it being one of the higher tier cards from 2012.

The Back 4 Blood recommended specs are based on a Warner Brothers Games forum post. The developers advise these specs for a beta going out two months before its full release. There is a chance Back 4 Blood can become easier to run. We believe that Back 4 Blood will be a reasonably optimized game come launch, with plenty of graphical options to tinker. You can see some of the PC graphics options in the PC trailer below. It is fairly reasonable to expect a GTX 970, a 3.5GB DDR5 GPU to run the game well. If you plan on maxing out your graphical options, we think a GTX 1080 will ensure a minimum of 60 FPS at max settings 1080p.

The surprise here is the demand from the CPU. The I5-8400 is not that powerful of a six-core processor at a 2.8 GHz speed (overclocked to 4 GHz). However, the i5-8400 is a more youthful CPU (2018). We think the specs indicate that the game will need either a high-end quad-core CPU or a budget six-core CPU to push back the hordes of undead this October.

We will update this Back 4 Blood system requirements page once Turtle Rock Studios releases an official specification.
