Aug. 29 update: Aliens: Fireteam Elite is released and our friends at WePC have been putting the game through it’s paces. In the video below you can see how the new Aliens co-op shooter performs with various GPU configurations. If you want to squeeze a little more out of your setup, perhaps with a FPS boost of up to 25%, you might also like to check out this video.
Original story: Ahead of the game’s release date of August 24, the system requirements for Aliens: Fireteam Elite on PC have been fully revealed. A modest rig, comprising of a 2017 AMD Athlon X4 950 CPU or Intel i5-2500K (2011) should manage a decent 30FPS with minimum graphics settings. If you have a more modern setup (AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF or Intel i5-7400 recommended), it should be able to handle 60FPS with ease, even if you max out the graphical bells and whistles. As Hudson might say, “Vwap! Fry half a city with this puppy!”
Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a single-player and multiplayer co-op PvE game that pits up to three players against waves of Aliens and Synthetics in four linked campaigns. Colonial Marines can be customized before each encounter, by choosing a class (Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc and Recon), weapons, gear and perks. It’s a bit like Back 4 Blood in that regard. Mostly.
There are 11 varieties of Xenomorph to look forward to blasting, from Facehuggers to Praetorians, in a game that is set 23 years after the conclusion of Alien 3. Sadly, this means we’re unlikely to see any of the Ripley clan make an appearance, although don’t discount some iteration of Bishop popping up and saying something about the A2s always being a bit twitchy.
While we await the arrival of the UAS Endeavor and it’s bad-ass Marines, here are the Aliens: Fireteam Elite System Requirements. You heard the man, you know the drill…
