The Game to End All Games Announced for 2009
Posted by Guest, 323 days ago Feb 25, 2008 15:49

No, Motorstorm 2 isn’t the game we are talking about, but we will discuss that later. First of all, its Motorstorm 2. We’ve known a sequel to Motorstorm was in the works since for a while (last September to be exact) but no details have ever been announced. That all changed today when BBC announced that Motorstorm 2 will be coming Holiday 2008 and include 4-person split-screen. BBC also concluded that Motorstorm will be a "race around a lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation." Interesting...

What was more interesting though was the mention of the game to end all games. We know absolutely nothing about the game, just that its coming in 2009. The hype is big, so therefore it must be good. What is really weird, is what the reporter said about this game:

"So what else was I shown? Well, I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy. Apparently, Sony just wanted to give a glimpse of what the console will be capable of.

In fact, the game is such a secret that when I mentioned the game to Phil Harrison last week he was unsure at first whether even to admit the title existed. When I explained I had been shown it under strict Non Disclosure Agreement terms he looked relieved.I don’t mean to be a tease - all I can say is that I was left speechless.

If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion."

If that isn’t hype, we don’t know what is. Lets just hoped that this doesn’t let us down like every other hyped PS3 game.
