The much hyped and sort after firmware update 2.4 for Playstation 3 was released as planned yesterday.

New features included ’Trophy’ support, much like the 360’s ’Achievements’ as well as in game messaging amongst other additions

But, according to Engadget and now confirmed by Sony, the firmware has been pulled due to reports of it bricking some consoles.

No further details have yet to be released from Sony, other than they are looking into the problems but anyone with the 2.4 firmware are been advised to go to system update on there consoles and roll back to the older version.

Is this a massive blunder on Sony’s behalf or just a few isolated problems?, let us know if your console is no longer working since the update or any thoughts on the situation below.
