The friendly AI is odd. Here’s an example: While playing the Warfare mode (An update of the previous iterations Onslaught mode) you have an Orb. The idea of Warfare mode is to capture points on a map, a la Battlefield and it’s ilk, until you can eventually attack the enemies base. The Orb is a brilliant addition, so long as you or one of your team-mates carries it to a capture point, you’ll instantly capture it, completely removing the long process of blowing seven shades of sunshine out of it before rebuilding it yourself. The biggest problem is that you can’t use vehicles, so you’re out in the open.

Now, with regards to the AI, the friendly AI that is, they’ll see fit to sit around and spawn camp this beautiful thing. All well and good perhaps, but they don’t seem to understand what to do with the thing. They’ll run off to completely pointless parts of the map, capturing completely Uneccessary nodes while the enemy AI storms it’s way towards your base, hacking away at your winning streak.
If that wasn’t enough, they don’t seem to understand when defence needs to be prioritised over attacking. Your base could be one step away from explosion city, but your team-mates will be having a fight on a long-forgotten hill because they feel like it. You can give your team-mates orders, but it’s a long laborious trudge through a D-pad menu system that see’s you open to attack at any given moment, and by the time they respond to your demands you probably won’t need them for it anyway.
