Retro is a difficult thing to quantify in general, but wiith gaming it is even worse. To one person Retro ends with the PS1, to another it’s the SNES. To some a system is retro as soon as it is no longer commercially available, to others it is 10 years from launch. There are a myriad of different ways to define it, but there is only one correct answer and that is your own. So who would be stupid enough to set up a dedicated area that requires them to define retro for the masses and take the flak for daring to call the PS1 retro? Well that would be me!
Despite what Gamestation may have you believe, Retro is alive and well. You only have to look at the Virtual Console on Nintendo’s Wii or Xbox 360 and PS3’s online stores to see that it is still a money spinner. So this little corner of that new fangled internet will be a haven for people who just can’t let the past be and are happy in the knowledge that their flares will be back in fashion ’one day’.

You can expect all sorts of articles and features on a myriad of retro-related subjects as well as retro reviews and possibly the odd video or two. So why not head over to the Retro Channel now and see whats there.
But better still, why not get involved. If you want to share a story from your gaming past or review a retro title on a new or old system then drop me a mail sirclive@gamingverdict.com
